Is America on the verge of its first national default in half a century? We put this question to President of Russia’s National Currency Association Dr Dmitry Pisculov:
"Most probably not. True, Obama’s Democrats will be pushing for a rise of the debt ceiling so as to go on spending. Their Republican opponents will be haranguing Congress on an impending inflation threat. In the end, however, the Democrats and the Republicans will put their political bickering to one side and reach a compromise in a time for a series of automatic spending cuts due to kick in on March 1st."
